I have tried several installations on a real PC with negative results. Problems: The Disks program does not start. Gparted starts but is continuously with the following message: "Scanning all devices ..." The file manager does not recognize my hard drives, external hard drives, pendrives, ... The Cnchi installer is frozen when it reaches the selection screen of the hard drive partitions.
Yo he intentado varias instalaciones en un pc real con resultados negativos.
Problemas: El programa Disks no arranca.
I'm still trying. Apparently, there is some problem (perhaps video) that does not allow access to the option selection window (at least on my computer) when trying to install on real hardware. But with VirtualBox, I haven't had any problems. I keep trying, now with VirtualBox 5.2.24 and UEFI mode (since 6.0.2 gives me problems).
Gparted works well on my computer (on real hardware). The installer works well on VirtualBox, but not on real hardware, as I can not select the options, because the screen appears empty. Maybe I'll install the same with the default options (it's quite possible), but that's not desirable.
Other problems I've had with my computer (it happened with Antergos as well), is that, when the installer did work, the last few times, after finishing the installer and restarting, it only gave me access to one terminal (I didn't start the GRUB). So I had to reinstall GRUB manually, and I solved the problem.
I finally installed GNOME with this last ISO. I just couldn't see the options (the screen doesn't show anything in this case), but it installed correctly, and without errors. I leave here the cnchi.log. I even used the gparted provided by this ISO, without problems, to perform the installation on a new disk.
Thank you so much for the log file Rafael! I'll take a peek at it as soon as I get home . Off-hand, my guess is it is not recognizing the hardware on a real PC outside of Virtualbox. I'll probably just remove that in Cnchi, and hopefully we can get it working shortly!
Keep trying - never give up. For in the end you will find it was all worth it.
