Openbox (english) installation New Reborn OS installer ISO startup screen (Video):
The following options were selected: Applications to Perform System Maintenance Arch User Repository (AUR) Support Bluetooth Support Chromium Web Browser Desktop Email Client (Thunderbird) Firefox Web Browser Hardware Analysis LibreOffice Printing Support Uncomplicated Firewall Visual Effects Windows Sharing SMB WPS Office Result: The installation is completed correctly. NOTES: (1)- When we click on add flpatpak repository, nothing happens. If we add gnome-software from the terminal, clicking on this case will open it, and you can see the installation of the flatpak repository (clicking does not ask for a password):
sudo pacman -S gnome-software
(2)- When we enter the password that asks us at the beginning, Openbox accommodates its menu and personalizes its theme, showing all the applications installed correctly. cnchi.logVideo:

Wow!!! I love the video there Rafael . It was incredibly thorough! As a fun fact, if you login and log back out, Conky will have worked some new magic (That part is thanks to ideas from some people over on Reborn's Discord server). So just a little more eye-candy and wonder if you're interested! I'll be creating my own Youtube video about this shortly, and after that you can expect an announcement here regarding our new changes Hope you enjoy it!

Yay!!! I've heard from badmem that KDE Plasma has been giving us some trouble sporadically. So it's good news indeed that it has decided to finally cooperate . As for Openbox and its issues with executing the proper flatpak commands, it seems it is having a bad attitude with graphical applications that are made to elevate privileges to root - such as gksudo and pkexec. Another thing now on my to-do list for sure .

KDE, I've used it a lot. It was the first environment I used when I started with Suse... Then I switched to Gnome. Right now, I'm with Deepin. But the one I'd like to use is Budgie, which is what I think would compliment the GNOME environment... What GNOME would lack for my taste is the system tray...

You started with Suse? That's amazing! When you switched to GNOME, was it still on Suse, or something else? I guess I have all these questions because I have never had the chance to dive into the whole .rpm family fully - yet. I do plan to do that sometime in the future though for sure! As for Budgie, I would have to agree. I wasn't too fond of it before the budgie-extra package became available in the Arch repositories, but now that it has, Budgie is so much more configurable than GNOME - all while maintaining a similar environment and feel . And that system tray??? I always used an extension to get that thing back, until it... um... broke. As most GNOME extensions seem to do at some time or another. (Not their fault I am sure, just GNOME's changes in general). I believe I heard that the system tray extension is back up and running once again (called TopIconsPlus I think) so that's good news for sure! P.S. Did you notice that Nautilus now has several new features? In the last release of it, they really gave it back some of its old power! Hoping the trend continues.... www.omgubuntu.co.uk/2018/07/nautilus-3-30-improvements-new-path-bargitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/nautilus/blob/3.30.0/NEWS (under Major changes in 3.29.90.1 I think)

Yes, I've already tried the new nautilus, and it improved a lot. I had it until a couple of days ago, when I changed Gnome for Deepin... But I really wanted to install Budgie... I have also used Ubuntu since its inception in 2004 with version 4.10 Warty Warthog with GNOME 2.8... In which came installed Firefox 0.9! I used all linux based on rpm. Well, I have installed almost all the Linux (some already dead) that I have found. Always between Windows and Linux, until several years ago that I only use Linux and, very occasionally, Windows. For a long time now, for my personal use, Arch Linux... Then I went to Antergos for the ease of installing (I can do it by hand as it should be with Arch, but when I want to install it to a friend, I do not want to spend so much time leaving it to the user's liking). And then, I came across reborn OS in a comment on the forums of Antergos...
Referring to topicons plus, it is no longer developed...

NOTE: Before you start, you must select Budgie Desktop, otherwise the system will start in GNOME. This is because Budgie depends on GNOME, and makes use of its display manager.

You still could by just opening up Pamac and installing "budgie-extraas", "budgie-desktop", and "budgie-cosmic-reborn" I think . Oh my! You sound rather busy . Which ones do you think were/are your favorites? Maybe top 5 or so? My favorites (excluding Reborn) would be this: 1) Antergos 2) Feren OS 3) Deepin (original) 4) Zorin OS 5) Elementary OS Not at all? I saw an updated package for it on the AUR... planning to add that one to our repo shortly !

Hmmm.... I just got thinking again (oh dear)..... What if we used your amazing Youtube videos Rafael and put them all on one page on our website to help new users see how to use each desktop environment Rbeorn-style .It seems like it might help people feel more comfortable with it if it is right there for them to see in the event they feel overwhelmed by all our choices in the installer What do you think?

Responding to which are my favorite Linux (leaving aside Arch and derivatives), are:
1.- OpenSUSE Tumbleweed (rolling release) 2.- Fedora 3.- PCLinuxOS (rolling release) 4.- Ubuntu 5.- Sabayon (rolling release)
OpenSUSE Tumbleweed, because I thought it was what it needed: to have a rolling version. Fedora, because it is the one that innovates in Gnome (and I like Gnome a lot). PCLinuxOS because it is the renaissance of Mandrake (that I knew how to use and I liked it a lot; besides, it maintains its control center). Ubuntu because it promoted the use of Linux with a lot of force, and is the easiest to use for those who start in the Linux world, with its LTS versions, with which users can use them to work without expecting to encounter major problems (apart from that is the one I install here in several companies). And Sabayon, because it was the way I got to know Gentoo (although I must say that I haven't done much with Gentoo; but Sabayon was very interesting to me).
Regarding Topicons, I personally consider GNOME's removal of the system tray to be a big mistake. It's okay to innovate, but there are things that are very useful. Just notice that GNOME is now, once installed, a set of extensions added to a system that, without them, is impractical for most. There is a reason why there are other environments (Cinnamon, Mate, Xfce, Budgie...) that make use of the GNOME base.
